Introduction
Dr. Ryan E. Chupp, MD FACS founded Access Surgical in 2024 to combine the personalized, patient-centered care of a bygone era with the advanced surgical techniques and technologies of modern medicine. The aim is to ensure patients feel connected and have direct access to their surgeon throughout their healthcare journey.
Dr. Chupp is a board certified general surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive surgery.
He treats many general surgery conditions such as hernias of all types, thyroid, small bowel, colon, reflux and gallbladder disease. He also performs upper and lower endoscopies (EGDs/colonoscopies) for both diagnostic and screening purposes.
Coordinating complex breast cancer and melanoma care with a multidisciplinary team including radiologists, oncologists, pathologists, plastic & reconstructive surgeons, radiation oncologists, pharmacists, genetic counselors, PT/OT, and other team members remains a passion for Dr. Chupp. This coordination is essential to providing seamless and comprehensive cancer care. As an early adopter of Stryker's SPY-PHI fluorescence, patients in need of lymph node biopsies will find world class care and outcomes.
In addition, for those suffering from debilitating lower back/nerve pain, he works closely with orthopedic and neurosurgical colleagues to provide spinal access.
As an experienced robotic surgeon, Dr. Chupp helps patients experience shorter recovery times, smaller incisions, and less post operative pain compared to traditional approaches. As a testament to his expertise, Dr. Chupp serves as a proctor for Intuitive - helping other surgeons learn robotic surgery on the da Vinci platform.
